My story began nine years ago, when I started a photography business out of the ashes of my former life.
I was a freshly divorced single mother of two boys, sitting awake at 2am, my hand trembling on my mouse and the cursor hovering over a "buy now" button. With only a dream and a prayer, I maxed out my credit card on a camera and a website domain while my babies were asleep in the next room.
I didn’t know then what an incredible adventure the next 9 years would be. I’m now happily married to my best friend and together we have 5 amazing teens and preteens. I’ve climbed a 14,000+ft mountain, ran a half-marathon, opened and closed a studio, wrote and published a book, and have had the honor of meeting and working with hundreds of amazing people.
Now that my journey has changed and I am no longer pursuing photography as a business, I feel more free to pursue my first love - writing. I’ll be blogging here, writing poetry, and perhaps, starting a second book.
Though this website has been dedicated to the work I’ve done for clients over the past 10 years, for 2019, I thought I’d change it up and document a more personal journey and the photographs that I’ve taken for myself. Here’s looking forward to all the surprises a new year will bring.

Professionally, above all things, I’d like to be known for my vision. I’d like to be remembered as a kind, inspiring individual, passionate about the details, able to see the big picture, and put my heart in everything I do.
As a photographer, I made it a point to work with people of all shapes, sizes, orientations, and demographics. I donated $100 of my profits per month to various charities, both near and far. I fought hard for marriage equality. People, all people, and their rights, matter to me.
